Why Install a Gyrostabiliser?

Improve Safety and Security

A VEEM Gyro will significantly improve deck safety by reducing the vessels rolling motion whilst at anchor or underway. Added benefits of a more stable vessel include: increasing deck crane operations, maximising weapons accuracy, safer tender launch and retrieval and safer docking alongside fixed and floating structures as nothing protrudes beyond the hull.

Increase Operating Days

Offshore completion dates, quality, availability days and ultimately profit are all at the mercy of the sea environment, a VEEM Gyro will work to reduce downtime, increase operating days availability, improve crew effectiveness, all leading to increased operational performance and ultimately profit.

Improve Comfort and Reduce Sea Sickness

By reducing or effectively eliminating wave induced rolling motion, the VEEM Gyro ensures crew members, passengers, troops are more comfortable, less fatigued, safer and able to perform more effectively both whilst at sea and after leaving the vessel.

Reduce Maintenance and Installation Time and Cost

All VEEM Gyro’s are fully maintained inside the vessel – this means no dry docking for maintenance or even a complete overhaul – ever. The VEEM Gyro has the lowest through life maintenance costs of any stabilisation system. Installation is also simple 16 bolts and power and cooling water – thats it.

Gyrostabiliser Models

Powerful and Dependable

VG120SD

The most advanced, powerful, simple to install and maintain and quiet gyro available for smaller Superyachts and Commercial vessels, to suit displacements of approximately 50-130 tonne. Like all VEEM Gyro’s it can be used as a single or multiple units, requires power of 14kW and produces 120kN.m of stabilising torque, and angular momentum of 52kN.m.s at a maximum of 66dBA.

VG145SD

A significant upgrade on the VG120SD in exactly the same dimensions with just an increase in weight of 300kG, providing 145kN.m of stabilising torque and angular momentum of 70kN.m.s, it requires just 15kW of power and very quiet at 67dBA.

VG260SD

Available late 2018, the most powerful and advanced gyrostabiliser suitable as a single unit for large yachts and commercial vessels to 900 tonnes or as a multiple up to approximately 3000 tonnes. Requiring 115kW of power the VG1000SD produces 1000kN.m of stabilising torque and 520kN.m.s angular momentum at 73dBA.
